Beautiful wavy hair attracts men’s attention, brings a certain charm to its owner and is disheveled and chaotically arranged at the same time…

Many women tend to overlook these specific characteristics of the curly hair and purposefully try to change and “tame” it until it is ruined.

Hair straighteners, wax, frequent re-coloring, and daily washing – all of these cause hair damage that is practically inevitable and can turn you into victim of your own vanity.

Women are inclined to undervalue their natural look and always strive for another aesthetic image, which most often proves to be destructive to the appearance.

“Hair-style and hair-color don’t depend on fashion trends, as they are a lifestyle”. “Dress down” and don’t be ashamed of your naturalness. Instead of following all vagaries of fashion, try and find the image that best suits your personality and doesn’t go against your “natural looks”.

In order to feel comfortable “in your own hair”, follow these simple tips: re-discover wavy hair, learn how to properly care for it and you will fall in love with your loose curls.

The Sephora home page has a definite natural and organic feel - not surprising really, when you discover that natural and organics are one of the fastest growing beauty areas. They’re cashing in. A new brand, Nuts Cream Perfume, caught my eye; the ’solid’ perfume is encased in a wooden ‘nut’ - from sustainable sources of course. The four scents sound delicious though; Melon d’Eau, Mango Poudre, Y’lang Y’lang Amour and Mimosa Bouquet. The other brand doesn’t claim green credentials but looks exciting none the less; Living Proof is a selection of hair styling products that promise to banish frizz, make hair go longer between washes and give you silky strands without using silicone. It makes much of the fact that its the brainchild of a venture capitalist company and an MIT professor who applies the principles of physics to hair frizz. Anything that banishes frizz is good, but most companies use science based principles (both physics and chemistry) to formulate their products, so brandishing MIT credentials is something of a hollow claim. Further reading finds that the MIT boffin is actually a leader in his field, having made huge medical advances for the greater good. So, what’s he doing making styling cream? Couldn’t be for the cash, surely. You know, if it works, it works - it will sell on that alone, so I’m wondering why the words ‘new molecules’ and ‘breakthrough solution’ leave me blinded by science.

Hardly a year has passed since Drew Barrymore and Justin Long called it quits that the couple have been spotted together again. They hung out in one of the Hollywood bars. Drew, 34, and Justin, 30, acted as if they were alone in the place. They were kissing and having fun together, according to JustJared.

Beth Ditto was a rather unlikely celebrity fixture throughout these past Fashion Weeks—she was pretty and demure in the front row of Stella McCartney and Gaultier, shined at Alexander McQueen and Chanel, and palled around with BFF du jour Kate Moss at the now-famous Fendi party. It's no secret that Ditto stands out from the crowd: the lead singer of the band Gossip, she's not only talented, but she has great style. Still, there's no question that she's built noticeably differently from the sinewy usual suspects that make up the fashion elite.

I wonder if beauty industry may have helped sway fashion's affections. After all, who could forget all the attention Dove's "Campaign for Real Beauty" got? And people across the world have also voiced their opinions as Fashion Weeks in major cities have questioned (and struggled with) the revision of models' measurements. But however her fame came about, Ditto seemed an attention-getting choice to grace the cover of the much-hyped first issue of stylist Katie Grand's haute (and HOT) Love magazine. The fleshy photo is representative of Ditto's fresh emergence on the fashion scene and has certainly further propelled her to her current "it" girl status. Later this summer, Ditto's first clothing collection, a partnership with British brand Evans, will hit stores—aiming to please legions of plus-size women.

foreveryoung_main.jpgRemember those maraschino-cherry candies from the '80s? Yeah, the ones that would melt all over your hands and leave behind red stains? Well my love for them was recently rekindled when I saw the Lanvin fall fashion show—where it was the models' lips that were stained a perfect cherry red. And I wondered what I could use (aside from candy) to get that same kind of shade on my fingernails.

Most cherry-red nail polishes are actually too bright, without the dark, almost blackish undertone found in real cherries. But a manicurist at Salon AKS in New York City recommended an Essie color that is spot-on—so much so, that every time I look at my nails I think of those amazing maraschino candies. Ironically, yet perfectly, the name of the shade is Forever Young—which is (and I know how cheesy this sounds, but here goes) how this color makes me feel.

Did you know that paying attention to proper skin care is a great way to pamper yourself not only today but in the future as well? Many women spend small, and not so small, fortunes on salon beauty treatments and skin care procedures each and every day around the world. Chances are they know a secret that the rest of us miss out on. That secret would be that skin care not only helps your skin look better and stay healthier but it also promotes feelings of wellness and well being in the women who take the time to actually pamper their skin.

The good news is that you do not have to have a salon friendly budget in order to pamper your skin or pay attention to your own skin care needs. Chances are quite good that you could receive a nice pampering dose of skin care TLC—even if your budget makes shoestrings seem large by comparison. The benefits of pampering skin care treatments are not only physical but also mental. Did you know that stress is a major contributer to damaged skin? Think of all the damage you can prevent by taking a little time for yourself (five or ten minutes) each and every day and a half hour or so once a week to devote to the proper skin care process you were taught long ago by your mother? She was on to something whether you want to admit or not.

We live in a world that moves at a much faster rate than ever before. Women today feel increased pressure to be super moms and that often happens at the expense of putting ourselves and our skin care needs at the bottom of the totem pole of priorities in our lives. We need money for other things, our children, spouses, churches, and community groups need our time and attention, and we are left looking older and feeling older than our years.

There is no time better than today to begin making plans to change the way you carve out time for yourself and make yourself and your own skin care needs a priority in your life. Even if you need to make an at home spa date with your favorite female child though it is much better if you can indulge yourself a little more with mommy free moments where you take off the mommy hat and wear the “woman in need of a much deserved break” hat. The family may not like it at first but once you establish the routine, and as long as you don’t abuse the routine, they will grow to understand and expect these moments of peaceful skin care bliss for you.

So, run the warm bath water, get out the soothing bath oils, exfoliating scrubs, moisturizing creams, and aromatherapeutic candles and prepare for your 10 minutes of bliss tonight. Your skin will start to glow once again in no time and you will feel, and look, as though years have been lifted away.

If you are anything like so many women around the world you are probably still in search of those elusive skin care products that deliver miraculous instant results. They are closer than you might think. What you need more than anything is a little education about your options and your individual skin care needs. You cannot possibly expect to purchase skin care products that are going to solve your problems related to aging if you haven’t yet figured out exactly what those problems may be.

    Dry Skin

Skin that is dry is one of the most common culprits to be blamed when it comes to creating conditions ripe for aging. Dry skin is skin that is damaged due to a lack of moisture. You should be aware that most moisturizers on the market are not designed to add moisture to the skin. Their role is to prevent the skin from losing moisture. For this reason, you must apply the moisturizer within 3 minutes of exposure to water in order to enjoy the maximum benefits of these types of products.

    Loss of Collagen

Collagen is necessary for keeping skin soft and supple. This is a substance that is produced naturally within the body. The problem is that in younger people, collagen is produced in abundance. As you age, the production of collagen slows. There are topical skin care products that work by boosting the production of this important substance. If your skin has lost the tone that you once enjoyed you will definitely want to be on the lookout for skin care products that are designed to give the production of collagen within the body a little bit of a “kick start”.

    Sun Damage

The sun is almost always the number one culprit when it comes to your anti aging needs. While there is not yet a miracle cure for sun damage there are plenty of excellent products you can use to prevent further sun damage and to begin to reduce some of the damage that has been done already. Antioxidants are the key to lending balance or stability to the free radicals that the suns rays leave behind on the surface of the skin. Your efforts should not end by including more antioxidants in your diet and in your skin care products though. You need to take active steps to prevent the sun from bringing even more damage to your skin by using adequate sun block and taking extra precautions to protect any exposed skin from the sun by covering up with gloves, hats, and clothing to provide an additional barrier between the sun and your skin.

Learning your specific needs for healing can help you more easily identify the skin care products that will serve you best. Keep your specific needs in mind as you shop for skin care products and buy accordingly for the best shot at finding the wrinkle cure you’ve been hoping for.

Normally, I love all things Alexander McQueen.

    Except this.

According to makeup artist Peter Philips, the look he created for McQueen's Paris Fashion Week was inspired by Joan Crawford and clowns. Oh really? We would have never guessed. I'll take a P for Pass on this scary trend.
